Things To Do At Bressingham Steam Museum

Take a trip on one of our four railways, get close-up to mighty steam engines in our locomotive shed, and ride on the magnificent and historic gallopers.

Wander through the main street of Walmington-on-Sea, home to a collection of Dad’s Army displays and vehicles, see fascinating historic railway exhibits in our museum, and enjoy the unique 17-acre Bressingham Gardens. Bressingham’s wonderful steam collection was started by entrepreneur Alan Bloom.

He opened his doors to the public more than 60 years ago to give everyone the chance to experience, enjoy and celebrate steam engineering.

Support Our Ongoing Projects

As a Charity, your donations are vital for the operation and care of the Museum and its many exhibits.

The Gallopers
A donation toward the upkeep and maintenance of our 1897 Savage Gallopers. Thousands of people a year enjoy a ride on our wonderful Gallopers ride, and your generous donation will help us to keep the Gallopers going so that many more thousands can enjoy a turn.

Our Krupps engines are very special to us at Bressingham. Whilst Rosenkavalier has taken pride of place in our museum, her sister engine (Mannertreu) is undergoing an extensive restoration process to one day be back in steam.

A donation toward the upkeep and maintenance of our Signal Box. Maybe need a bit more history about this here.

Every donation we recieve goes straight back into the maintence, upkeep  and restorations here at Bressingham Steam Museum. Whether it be a £1 or £100, every donation is greatly appreciated.
